Influence of indoor hygrothermal conditions on human quality of life in social housing

open access: yesJournal of Public Health Research, 2015
Background: Modern societies spend most of their time indoors, namely at home, and the indoor environment quality turns out to be a crucial factor to health, quality of life and well-being of the residents. The present study aims to understand how indoor

FINN: A Framework for Fast, Scalable Binarized Neural Network Inference

open access: yes, 2016
Research has shown that convolutional neural networks contain significant redundancy, and high classification accuracy can be obtained even when weights and activations are reduced from floating point to binary values.

Can Knee Arthroscopy Be Considered Entirely Safe for Patients Over 50 Years Old With no Risk of Osteonecrosis? Case Series and Literature Review on Post‐Artrhoscopy Osteonecrosis of the Knee (PAONK)

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1378-1388, May 2025.
Post‐arthroscopy osteonecrosis is a rare complication occurring in 0.82% of cases, primarily affecting patients over 50 with degenerative meniscal tears. Early detection through MRI and conservative treatment, including bisphosphonates and weight‐bearing avoidance, proved effective in most cases, while some required surgical intervention.

Integrative Analyses Identify a cGAS‐STING Pathway‐Driven Signature With Context‐Dependent Roles in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Zhang et al. identify M7core, a critical cGAS‐STING pathway‐driven gene signature that is activated in most lupus patients’ blood and links to lupus disease severity, lymphopenia, and lupus nephritis. They further reveal the diagnostic and pathogenic characteristics of M7core and emphasize the importance of assessing pathway activity before initiating ...

The Habitable-zone Planet Finder Calibration System

open access: yes, 2014
We present the design concept of the wavelength calibration system for the Habitable-zone Planet Finder instrument (HPF), a precision radial velocity (RV) spectrograph designed to detect terrestrial-mass planets around M-dwarfs.

Multi‐Transcriptomic Analysis Reveals That EREG‐Driven TME Crosstalk Defines Anti‐EGFR Response in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
A multi‐transcriptomic analysis reveals the “EREG/EGFR/CSF axis” as a key intercellular network in the tumor microenvironment that dictates anti‐EGFR sensitivity in colorectal cancer. ABSTRACT Sidedness influences colorectal cancer (CRC) prognosis and treatment response, yet the mechanism dictating differential EGFR inhibitor (EGFRI) sensitivity is ...

Transcriptomic and DNA Methylation Profiles of Alternative Aphid Morphs and Genotypes

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Graph showing the correlation between differentially expressed genes and differentially methylated genes. There is no correlation between gene expression and DNA methylation level in pea aphid polyphenism. ABSTRACT Pea aphids can develop alternative morphs when exposed to stressful conditions, showing differences between genotypes in their stress ...

Theory of high-T_c superconductivity based on the fermion-condensation quantum phase transition

open access: yes, 2001
A theory of high temperature superconductivity based on the combination of the fermion-condensation quantum phase transition and the conventional theory of superconductivity is presented.

Proximity Labelling Reveals the Compartmental Proteome of Murine Sensory Neurons

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 30, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Understanding the molecular architecture of peripheral sensory neurons is critical as we pursue novel drug targets against pain and neuropathy. Sensory neurons in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) show extensive compartmentalization; thus, understanding each compartment—from the peripheral to central terminals—is key to this effort ...

RS(n,k) Encoder based on LFCS

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2012
This article presents the design of a Reed Solomon encoder circuit based on a concurrent LFCS -Linear Structure Concurrent Feedback-allowing the generation of code redundancy symbols in parallel, provided that you supply the k information symbols to encode simultaneously, the encoder provides at its output corresponding redundancy symbols.
