A DFT study on Sumanene, Corannulene and Nanosheet as the Anodes in Li−Ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2020
Herein, we studied interactions between the Li neutral atom and Li+ ion and three types of nanoparticles including sumanene (Sum), corannulene (Cor), and nanosheet to obtain the cell voltage (V) for Li−ion batteries (LIBs).

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Application of laser produced ion beams to nuclear analysis of materials

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
The ion beam driven nuclear analysis has been developed for many years by using various electrostatic accelerators. A proton micro-beam with the beam diameter of ∼1.5 μm at Takasaki Ion Acceleration for Advanced Radiation Application (TIARA), JAEA was ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SATELLITE BATTERY TECHNOLOGIES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Defense Resources Management
As satellite battery technologies evolve, cost analysts must reassess whether historical subsystem data remain valid for cost estimating relationships (CERs).

Nanoarchitectured 3D Cathodes for Li‐Ion Microbatteries [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 2010
Microbatteries with large area capacity and no power limitation can be obtained by designing 3D structured batteries. 3D electrodes composed of 30 nm-thick films of LiCoO2 coating free-standing columns of Al current collector were achieved. By comparison with a planar electrode presenting an equivalent nominal capacity, a 3D electrode exhibits improved
