Nanostructured Anode Material for Li-Ion Batteries
Advances in Science and Technology, 2010The present paper focuses on a nanostructured SnCo alloy electrochemically prepared by template method in view of its use as anode material alternative to graphite in lithium-ion batteries. The fabrication of SnCo nanowire arrays was carried out by potentiostatic co-deposition of the two metals by using nanostructured anodic alumina membranes as ...

The active elements for negative (anode) electrodes are reviewed here according to the following sequence. First, the carbon anode is considered, since almost all the Li-ion batteries on the market are presently equipped with graphitic carbon. Then the next elements of the Mendeleev table (Si, Ge, …) are considered.

Boostcharging Li-ion batteries: A challenging new charging concept
Journal of Power Sources, 2005Boostcharging is proposed as a new, ultra-fast, recharging algorithm for Li-ion batteries. Characteristic for boostcharging is that close-to-fully discharged batteries can be recharged with very high currents for a short period of time. Cycle life of Li-ion batteries, boostcharged and additionally standard charged to full capacity do not introduce any ...

An analysis for cooling Li-ion battery modules
2014 IEEE Fourth International Conference on Consumer Electronics Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2014This paper discusses the theory and experiments of heating and air cooling of battery modules. Heating mechanism is shown first, and cooling of a single battery is examined. Optimum air flow speed is discussed. Then, similar discussion is made for a battery module of six serial cells.

Hysteresis in PDE model of a Li-ion battery
2016 American Control Conference (ACC), 2016Lithium-ion batteries are commonly used to store energy in electric vehicles. Hysteresis is an important phenomenon observed in the response of these batteries. The most common observation for lithium ion batteries is open circuit voltage and these measurements exhibit hysteretic behavior.
