A bioinformatics screen identifies TCF19 as an aggressiveness‐sustaining gene in prostate cancer
Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Gene expression meta‐analysis in multiple prostate cancer patient cohorts identifies Transcription factor 19 (TCF19) as an aggressiveness‐sustaining gene with prognostic potential. TCF19 is a gene repressed by androgen signaling that sustains core cancer‐related processes such as vascular permeability or tumor growth and metastasis.Amaia Ercilla, Jana R. Molecular Oncology, EarlyView. This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.Mustafa Karabicici, Soheil Akbari, Ceyda Caliskan, Canan Celiker, Ozden Oz, Leman Binokay, Gökhan Karakulah, Serif Senturk, Esra Erdal +8 morewiley +1 more sourceDeveloping a national database on Librarianship and Information Science. Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Using multi‐omic characterization, we aimed to identify key regulators specific to squamous cell lung carcinoma (SqCC). SqCC‐specific differentially expressed genes were integrated with metabolics data. High expression of the creatine transporter SLC6A8, along with elevated creatine levels, appeared to be a distinct metabolic feature of SqCC.Johan Staaf, Daniel Ehinger, Hans Brunnström, Mats Jönsson, Frida Rosengren, Marija Kotevska, Anna Karlsson, Mattias Aine, Christian Frezza, Maria Planck, Elsa Arbajian +10 morewiley +1 more sourceField Blue Stragglers and Related Mass Transfer Issues

Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.Adrien M.
