Proposing immersive virtual reality scenarios for validating verbal content analysis methods in adult samples

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
Verbal content analyses to differentiate truthful and fabricated statements, such as the Criteria-Based Content Analysis (CBCA), are used in lie detection research as well as in practice to assess the credibility of statements in criminal court ...

False Identity Detection Using Complex Sentences

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
The use of faked identities is a current issue for both physical and online security. In this paper, we test the differences between subjects who report their true identity and the ones who give fake identity responding to control, simple, and complex ...

Relationship of cognitive decline with glucocerebrosidase activity and amyloid‐beta 42 in DLB and PD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Parkinson's disease (PD) share clinical, pathological, and genetic risk factors, including GBA1 and APOEε4 mutations. Biomarkers associated with the pathways of these mutations, such as glucocerebrosidase enzyme (GCase) activity and amyloid‐beta 42 (Aβ42) levels, may hold potential as predictive ...

Claustrum Volume Is Reduced in Multiple Sclerosis and Predicts Disability

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The claustrum is a small, thin structure of predominantly gray matter with broad connectivity and enigmatic function. Little is known regarding the impact of claustrum pathology in multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods This study assessed whether claustrum volume was reduced in MS and whether reductions were associated with specific ...

Contando e detectando mentiras: efeito do feedback sobre o desempenho

open access: yesPsicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa

Combination Therapy With Vigabatrin and Prednisolone Versus Vigabatrin Alone for Infantile Spasms

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The study evaluated the effectiveness of combination therapy with vigabatrin and prednisolone versus vigabatrin alone for treating infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS). Methods This single‐center, single‐blind, randomized trial enrolled infants aged 2–14 months with new‐onset IESS, randomly assigned them (1:1) to receive either

Detecting knot invertibility [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Knot Theory Ramifications 5 (1996), 173-181, 1997
We discuss the consequences of the possibility that Vassiliev invariants do not detect knot invertibility as well as the fact that quantum Lie group invariants are known not to do so. On the other hand, finite group invariants, such as the set of homomorphisms from the knot group to M_11, can detect knot invertibility.
