Valuation of infrastructure assets has been receiving greater attention by municipalities in the U.S. since the Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement 34 (GASB 34) was issued in 1999. According to GASB 34, values of infrastructure assets should be estimated and included in the annual financial reports of governmental agencies.
