Annals of Tourism Research, 1997
Much has been written about the successful application or otherwise of Butler's Life Cycle Model ( 1990) to tourism destinations around the globe. In offering up this model he found some areas to substantiate his theories, but nevertheless saw that the arguments were general and would need further testing.

A Life Cycle Model of Virtual Communities
2009 42nd Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2009The importance of virtual communities is well established in Information Systems (IS) research. A significant number of studies on this topic have focused on investigating motivators and inhibitors of members participation. However, virtual communities are not static, but dynamically evolve, and often die to be replaced by other virtual communities.

The Triangular Life Cycle Model
2009The waterfall life cycle model suffers from a number of problems but in spite of this, it continues to be the most widely used life cycle model. A different life cycle approach is proposed that emphasizes the product life cycle rather than the project life cycle, quality management priorities rather than project management priorities and views of ...

A system of models for the life cycle of a biological organism
Biometrika, 1968SUMMARY This paper is concerned with stochastic models for the representation of the development of a biological organism through recognizable distinct stages. The models are based upon the assumption that the periods spent in each stage of development, excluding the possibility of death, are independent random variables with a characteristic form of ...

A Note on the Yaari Life Cycle Model
The Review of Economic Studies, 19782. Perfect market conditions are postulated: money can be borrowed or lent at the same rate of interest j(t) and there is no transaction cost. Any life-contingent arrangement is based on the principle of equivalence which stipulates ([1, p. 262]) that the expected value of claim (benefit) payments should be equal to the expected value of premiums to be
