Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

TREX1, a predator for treating MSI‐H tumors?

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immunotherapy benefits many patients; yet, some with MSI‐H tumors remain unresponsive despite their high immunogenicity. Xu et al. reveal that TREX1 enables immune evasion by degrading cytosolic DNA and suppressing cGAS–STING–IFN‐I signaling. TREX1 loss restores DNA sensing, increases CD8+ T and NK cell infiltration, and boosts antitumor immunity ...

Life Style Evaluation by Accelerometer

2013
The assessment of the Spontaneous Motor Activity (SMA) of the life style (LS) is fundamental to establish the daily Physical Activity (PA) dose as therapy. The recent employment the accelerometer (AiperMotion 440 PC –Aipermon GmBH – Germany), can immediately distinguish “active” from “sedentary” subjects providing a larger adhesion to the exercise ...

Evaluating Stressful Life Events

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1986
This research examines the effects of combining existing stress measures into one psychometric hybrid assessment tool. This process uses the severity of experienced life events and individual perception of those events to assess an individual's current stress level. This stress level is reflected globally in a Total Change Scale and delimited by three

Real-life CRONOS evaluation

Tenth International Conference on Road Transport Information and Control, 2000
CRONOS is a real-time urban traffic control (UTC) algorithm developed at INRETS in France (Boillot et al., 1992). It provides the traffic light states (green, amber, red) of junctions for the next few seconds based on a traffic criterion optimisation and using the rolling horizon concept (Gartner, 1982). Three main features characterise it: its ability
