Nucleoside‐Modified mRNA Encoding Alpha‐Galactosidase A Ameliorates Fabry Disease Phenotypes in Human IPSC‐Derived Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human iPSC‐derived Fabry cardiomyocytes exhibited broad transcriptional dysregulation, apoptosis, mitochondrial dysfunction, impaired reactive oxygen species handling, altered contractility, and abnormal calcium transient decay, potentially mediated by phospholamban hyperphosphorylation.

Representing the drivers of lifestyle change in Integrated Assessment Models using theories from environmental psychology: introducing the Motivation, Agency, and Past Behaviour (MAP) framework

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
Sustainable lifestyle changes are an important demand-side solution to reducing CO _2 emissions. While sustainable lifestyles are increasingly included in integrated assessment models, modellers have so far not managed to realistically model what drives ...

Enhancing Youth Mental Health Through Virtual Lifestyle Behavior Change Support: A Pilot Feasibility Trial

open access: yesChildren
Background: Among many deleterious effects on the well-being of children and youth, the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to a surge in youth mental health distress. This, coupled with pre-existing prolonged wait times for mental health care, highlighted the

BOULE is Essential for the Dynamic Disassembly of Heat Shock Granules in Male Germ Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BOULE orchestrates stress granule disassembly in germ cells via a two‐pronged mechanism: it promotes G3BP1 ubiquitination by upregulating TRIM27, generating a signal for VCP/FAF2 recruitment, and it maintains G3BP1 and FAF2 protein levels. BOULE deficiency disrupts disassembly complex formation, leading to impaired heat shock granule clearance ...

Encapsulated Leptin‐Producing Cells Facilitate Entrainment of Circadian Rhythms in Rodents and Nonhuman Primates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A clinically translatable cell line can be engineered to produce leptin, encapsulated in biomaterial and safely implanted to produce and deliver the metabolic regulating protein within the body. Implantation of these encapsulated cells decreases the time it takes for mice and non‐human primates to adjust to circadian disruptions similar to those ...

Oral Nanomicelle‐Mediated Sequential Butyrate Production in the Intestine for Ulcerative Colitis and Immunosuppression Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After oral administration, inodorous GLU‐BA self‐assembles into nanomicelles in aqueous environments to resist premature gastric adsorption. Upon reaching the intestine, endogenous esterases rapidly cleave the built‐in ester bonds in these nanomicelles to release BA and GLU, with GLU further metabolized by gut microbiota to gradually generate BA ...

Sex‐ and Time‐Resolved Physiological and Gut Ecosystem Responses to a Food‐Grade Microbiome‐Targeted Intervention in Collegiate Endurance Athletes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In collegiate endurance athletes, a 6‐week randomized CPYE intervention yielded time‐ and sex‐dependent shifts in field‐based cardiorespiratory, metabolic, and redox indices, accompanied by changes in gut multi‐omics profiles. An exploratory extension during intensified training generates hypotheses warranting future validation.

The GPX3‐VCAM1 Axis Gates Pro‐Fibrotic Tubule Cell Fate in Hyperuricemic Nephropathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hyperuricemia induces NLRP3 inflammasome signaling activation and downregulation of GPX3 in proximal tubular epithelial cells, leading to oxidative stress–driven VCAM1 upregulation, emergence of pro‐fibrotic proximal tubule cells, macrophage recruitment, and renal fibrosis.
