Inner-shell lifetimes from lifetime-vibrational interference

Chemical Physics Letters, 1991
Abstract Experimental and theoretical evidence suggests that inner-shell lifetimes for carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen depend on the chemical form of the element in question. The changes in lifetime widths are small and are difficult to measure using traditional inner-shell spectroscopic methods.

Positronium lifetime calculation

Physical Review D, 1993
A new approach to a positronium lifetime calculation is proposed. The method is completely relativistic and gauge invariant. The full positronium width is determined through several parameters connected with a dynamics of forming the bound state. These parameters play the same role as structure functions in the case of inclusive deep-inelastic lepton ...

Multicomponent Lifetime-Based pH Sensors Utilizing Constant-Lifetime Probes

Analytical Chemistry, 2002
A multicomponent luminescent sensor system is described that uses probe species with constant lifetimes to generate an analyte-dependent change in the apparent sensor lifetime. This new sensing scheme not only allows for lifetime-based measurement techniques to be applied to sensors that employ static quenching interactions but also provides the ...

Lifetime Tobacco Use

Annals of Internal Medicine, 1986
Excerpt To the editor: The strong case made against the utility of routine chest radiographs by Tape and Mushlin (1) should prompt many physicians to limit the use of chest radiographs, as recommen...

Lifetime Distribution Identities

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1986
Five ways of representing the distribution of a continuous nonnegative random variable T are used extensively in the reliability literature: the probability density function, the reliability (survivor function), the hazard rate, the cumulative hazard function, and the mean residual life function. Properties, identities, and intuitive interpretations of

Video rate fluorescence lifetime imaging and fluorescence lifetime endoscopy

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
We report real-time (video-rate) fluorescence lifetime imaging and its application to tissue autofluorescence and endoscopy, demonstrating FLIM of unstained ex vivo tissue at update rates of 5.5 Hz through a flexible endoscope.
