A Cascode Pair Based on SiGe HPT for RoF/LiFi Applications

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this letter, a Si/SiGe phototransistor fully integrated in an industrial 55‐nm node BiCMOS technology is incorporated in a cascode pair for high‐speed photodetection. After having presented the phototranistor structure, the opto‐microwave performances are discussed and compared with a single stage phototransistor.

Investigation of OFDM-Based HS-PON Using Front-End LiFiSystem for 5G Networks

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Fifth-generation (5G) technology has enabled faster communication speeds, lower latency, a broader range of coverage, and greater capacity. This research aims to introduce a bidirectional high-speed passive optical network (HS-PON) for 5G applications ...

Load balancing in hybrid LiFi and RF networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The increasing number of mobile devices challenges the current radio frequency (RF) networks. The conventional RF spectrum for wireless communications is saturating, motivating to develop other unexplored frequency bands.

Experimental demonstrations of high‐accuracy 3D/2D indoor visible light positioning using imaging multiple‐input multiple‐output receivers and artificial neural networks

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper proposes and demonstrates a high‐precision indoor 2D and 3D visible light positioning system using an imaging MIMO configuration with supervised ANN, achieving positioning accuracies of 3.7 mm (2D) and 51 mm (3D) experimentally. A simulation model verifies the results and optimises the system, improving accuracies to 2 mm (2D) and 14.7 mm (3D)

DMIMO and Machine Learning Techniques for Enhanced BER and Data Rates in 5G Free‐Space Optical Communication

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This study introduces a dual multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) method to enhance bit error rate (BER) and Q‐factor in 5G free‐space optical (FSO) communication. By integrating spatial diversity, machine learning‐based modulation, and adaptive optical filters, the system achieves data rates up to 120 Gbps while improving signal quality by up to 80%.

The geography of collective bargaining in French multi‐establishment companies

open access: yesIndustrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, Volume 64, Issue 1, Page 125-144, January 2025.
Abstract Despite growing interest in the firm bargaining process, little research focuses on the structure of bargaining within multi‐establishment firms. We question whether running negotiations at the workplace level and/or firm level is a strategic choice for employers.

Advanced LiFi technology: Laser light [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We demonstrate high-speed LiFi data communication of over 20 Gbit/s using visible light from a laser-based white light emitting surface mount device (SMD) product platform that offers 10-100X the brightness of conventional LED sources. Equipped with high

Organic photovoltaics for simultaneous energy harvesting and high-speed MIMO optical wireless communications

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2021
We show that organic photovoltaics (OPVs) are suitable for high-speed optical wireless data receivers that can also harvest power. In addition, these OPVs are of particular interest for indoor applications, as their bandgap is larger than that of silicon,
