Lifting operations and lifting equipment [PDF]
Lifting operations are inherent to many occupations in the construction industry. They can be performed manually or using lifting equipment. Both manual lifting and mechanical lifting operations can put construction workers at great risk of injury or ...

This paper proposes a highly efficient ferroelectric artificial synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor and SnCl2‐inserted P(VDF‐TrFE) gate dielectric layer. This FeFET significantly improved the synaptic performance due to the ion‐dipole interaction.

Electroforming‐free TiN/SiOx/Cu/SiOx/TiN memristive devices exploit pancake‐like Cu nanoparticles embedded in a SiOx double layer to create a heterogeneous Schottky‐barrier landscape. Under bias, oxygen‐vacancy redistribution progressively lowers local barriers and recruits initially inactive Cu‐PC pathways into a parallel conduction ensemble, enabling

Stacking Fault Complexions in AgSbTe2 Thermoelectrics With Enhanced Electrical Conductivity
Atomic‐scale characterization resolves stacking fault complexion in AgSbTe2, showing Te and Sb segregation along with lattice dilation. Their enhanced effects on phonon scattering are modeled analytically. Although most defects also impede electron transport, local four‐point‐probe measurements reveal higher electrical conductivity at stacking fault ...

Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

Revised NIOSH equation for the design and evaluation of manual lifting tasks [PDF]
"The revisions of the lifting equation used by NIOSH in an effort to assist in the analysis and prevention of back injuries caused by manual lifting reflected new findings and provided methods for evaluating asymmetrical lifting tasks and lifts of ...

A New Adaptive Lifting Scheme and Its Applying to Fault Current Denoising [PDF]
In this paper, a new adaptive lifting wavelet transform scheme is proposed. The main idea of the scheme is that the choice of predicting operator is triggered by local gradient information of the signal.

Durable quasi‐liquid polymer brush surfaces provide an anti‐scaling strategy for hypersaline brine evaporation and zero‐liquid‐discharge desalination. The smooth, liquid‐like QLS interface suppresses substrate‐side salt nucleation, promotes compact crystallization and dewetting, reduces crystal–surface contact area, and enables low‐adhesion salt ...
