Simulation Analysis of Knee Ligaments in the Landing Phase of Freestyle Skiing Aerial

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The risk of knee injuries in freestyle skiing athletes that perform aerials is high. The internal stresses in the knee joints of these athletes cannot easily be directly measured.

Ultrasound of the wrist ligaments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Injuries of the intrinsic and extrinsic wrist ligaments can lead to chronic wrist pain and carpal instability, while injuries of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) are a frequent cause of ulnar-sided wrist pain.

GRAFT LIGAMENTIZATION OF ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Practice, 2016
The article presents an analysis of surgical treatment results of 71 patients, operated on for rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the department of traumatology and orthopedics FSСС FMBA of Russia in 2013-2016. All patients underwent primary arthroscopic ACL reconstruction with autograft from tendons gracilis and semitendinosus.

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

The changes in chemical composition during development of the bovine nuchal ligament [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Whole bovine nuchal ligaments, or portions thereof (in the case of commercially valuable animals), were obtained from 45 animals (28 fetal and 17 postnatal) ranging in age from 110 days of gestation to 10 yr. Insoluble elastin was quantitatively prepared

Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

5-Year survival of pediatric anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with living donor hamstring tendon grafts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: It is well accepted that there is a higher incidence of repeat anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in the pediatric population after ACL reconstruction (ACLR) with autograft tissue compared with adults.

Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).
