A Canine Musculoskeletal Robot for Investigating Biomechanical Functions During Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this study, a dog limb musculoskeletal robot was developed using thin McKibben artificial muscles to investigate the effects of the dog's musculoskeletal structure on walking. Walking experiments were conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, suggesting that the flexible structure of the dog's shoulders contributes to an increase in stroke ...

Modified Arthroscopic Brostrom Procedure With Bone Tunnels

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2016
The open anatomic repair of the anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments (modified Brostrom procedure) is widely accepted as the standard surgical stabilization procedure for lateral ankle instability that does not respond to conservative ...

Targeted Inhibition of CD74+ Macrophages by Luteolin via CEBPB/P65 Signaling Ameliorates Osteoarthritis Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies CD74⁺ macrophages as key drivers of synovial inflammation in osteoarthritis (OA). The flavonoid luteolin is predicted to inhibit this pathway by blocking Nuclear Factor Kappa‐light‐chain‐enhancer of Activated B cells (NF‐κB) signaling. To enhance delivery, a targeted nanoplatform (MDSPL) is developed.

Synovial Fluid‐derived Micrococcus Luteus G18 Exacerbates Osteoarthritis Progression by Promoting Chondrocyte Degradation via TLR2/JNK/AP‐1 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Traditionally considered sterile, the articular cavity is now recognized to harbor microbial communities influencing osteoarthritis (OA). Integrating 16S rRNA sequencing and culturomics, Micrococcus luteus is enriched in advanced OA. Notably, M. luteus G18 exacerbates cartilage degeneration via TLR2/JNK/AP‐1‐mediated ECM disruption, revealing intra ...

Nanozyme‐Integrated Hydrogel Targeting AGEs for Diabetic Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanozyme–integrated hydrogel (PTC‐MP) exhibiting with mild photothermal effects is constructed, and a “3R” (restrain‐restore‐reinforce) strategy is proposed for diabetic osteoarthritis (DOA) treatment based on advanced glycation end products (AGEs) targeting.

Spatial Transcriptomics of TMJ Reveals a Remodeling Fibroblast‐Immune Microenvironment Driving Arthritis Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics reveals a remodeled fibroblast‐immune microenvironment in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) during arthritis. By combining seqFISH with genetic mouse models, this study uncovers TMJ spatial cell atalas, macrophage‐fibroblast crosstalk, and cytokine signaling pathways driving TMJ inflammation and pain.

CT Arthrography of the Elbow: What Radiologists Should Know

open access: yesTomography
Computed tomography (CT) arthrography is a quickly available imaging modality to investigate elbow disorders. Its excellent spatial resolution enables the detection of subtle pathologic changes of intra-articular structures, which makes this technique ...

Tibial Plateau Fractures in Elderly Patients

open access: yesGeriatric Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation, 2016
Tibial plateau fractures are common in the elderly population following a low-energy mechanism. Initial evaluation includes an assessment of the soft tissues and surrounding ligaments.
