Histological Study of Nerve Endings in Ligamentum Flavum in Patients with Discopathy

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2004
Background: Ligamentum flavum normally has neural ends so it has sensory role and helps to protect vertebral column against different injuries. The aim of this study was to detect the neural ends in ligamentum flavum in patients with discopathy. Methods:

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Lissencephaly-1 is a context-dependent regulator of the human dynein complex

open access: yeseLife, 2017
The cytoplasmic dynein-1 (dynein) motor plays a central role in microtubule organisation and cargo transport. These functions are spatially regulated by association of dynein and its accessory complex dynactin with dynamic microtubule plus ends. Here, we

Impact of solvent type and condition on biomass liquefaction to produce heavy oils in high yield with low oxygen contents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Bio-oils produced by processes such as slow or fast pyrolysis typically contain high water and oxygen contents, which make them incompatible with conventional fuels.
