Proactive Serving Decreases User Delay Exponentially: The Light-Tailed Service Time Case
In online service systems, the delay experienced by users from service request to service completion is one of the most critical performance metrics. To improve user delay experience, recent industrial practices suggest a modern system design mechanism: proactive serving , where the service system predicts future user requests and allocates its ...

Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Two-Stage Dynamics of In Vivo Bacteriophage Genome Ejection
Biopolymer translocation is a key step in viral infection processes. The transfer of information-encoding genomes allows viruses to reprogram the cell fate of their hosts. Constituting 96% of all known bacterial viruses [A. Fokine and M. G.

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Large deviations for light-tailed Lévy bridges on short time scales
Let $L = (L(t))_{t\geq 0}$ be a multivariate Lévy process with Lévy measure $ν(dy) = \exp(-f(|y|)) dy$ for a smoothly regularly varying function $f$ of index $α>1$. The process $L$ is renormalized as $X^\varepsilon(t) = \varepsilon L(r_\varepsilon t)$, $t\in [0, T]$, for a scaling parameter $r_\varepsilon= o(\varepsilon^{-1})$, as $\varepsilon \to 0$

Visual Recovery Reflects Cortical MeCP2 Sensitivity in Rett Syndrome
ABSTRACT Objective Rett syndrome (RTT) is a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with developmental regression affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive functions. Sensory disruptions contribute to the complex behavioral and cognitive difficulties and represent an important target for therapeutic interventions.

Does intensive goose grazing affect breeding waders?
Increasing goose population sizes gives rise to conflicts with human socioeconomic interests and in some circumstances conservation interests. Grazing by high abundances of geese in grasslands is postulated to lead to a very short and homogeneous sward ...
