Centaurus A: Hard X-ray and High-Energy Gamma-Ray Light Curve Correlation

open access: yesGalaxies, 2019
Centaurus A, powered by a 55 million solar mass supermassive black hole, has been intensively monitored in all accessible wavelength ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Polarization and light curve variability: the "patchy shell" model

open access: yes, 2003
Recent advances in early detection and detailed monitoring of GRB afterglows have revealed variability in some afterglow light curves. One of the leading models for this behavior is the patchy shell model.

Characterization of variability in blazar light curves [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 2020
AbstractBlazars represent the dominant population of the extragalactic γ‐ray sources in the universe. These sources exhibit some characteristic properties such as strong and nonthermal continuum emission over the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio to Tera electron Volts (TeV) γ‐rays, with rapid variability on all timescales.

Modeling of the Super-Eddington Phase for Classical Novae: Five IUE Novae

open access: yes, 2006
We present a light curve model for the super-Eddington luminosity phase of five classical novae observed with IUE. Optical and UV light curves are calculated based on the optically thick wind theory with a reduced effective opacity for a porous ...

Tycho Brahe's supernova: light from centuries past [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The light curve of SN 1572 is described in the terms used nowadays to characterize SNeIa. By assembling the records of the observations done in 1572--74 and evaluating their uncertainties, it is possible to recover the light curve and the color evolution

Photometric AGN reverberation mapping - an efficient tool for BLR sizes, black hole masses and host-subtracted AGN luminosities

open access: yes, 2011
Photometric reverberation mapping employs a wide bandpass to measure the AGN continuum variations and a suitable band, usually a narrow band (NB), to trace the echo of an emission line in the broad line region (BLR).

The first photometric investigation of two short-period Algol-type eclipsing binaries: IW UMa and V367 Gem

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
IntroductionThe first multi-color photometric observations and low-resolution spectra of the Algol-type short-period eclipsing binary systems IWUMa and V367 Gem are presented here.

A Turnover in the Radio Light Curve of GW170817 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2018
Abstract We present 2–9 GHz radio observations of GW170817 covering the period 125–200 days post-merger, taken with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) and the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA). Our observations demonstrate that the radio afterglow peaked at 149 ± 2 days post-merger and is now declining in flux density.
