THE LIGHT CURVE OF SN 1987A REVISITED: CONSTRAINING PRODUCTION MASSES OF RADIOACTIVE NUCLIDES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We revisit the evidence for the contribution of the long-lived radioactive nuclides 44Ti, 55Fe, 56Co, 57Co, and 60Co to the UVOIR light curve of SN 1987A.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

New NIR light-curve templates for classical Cepheids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Aims. We present new near-infrared (NIR) light-curve templates for fundamental (FU, J, H, KS) and first overtone (FO, J) classical Cepheids. The new templates together with period-luminosity and period-Wesenheit (PW) relations provide Cepheid distances ...

Light Curves of Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1996
Although emerging from a range of progenitor stars and the product of different explosion mechanisms the light curves of the various supernova types are shaped mainly by radioactive power. Core-collapse supernovae have in addition early peaks from shock breakout with a subsequent cooling phase and massive extended stars a recombination (plateau) phase.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Three Stages in Evolution of the Object Th4-4

open access: yesGalaxies
The results of observations of the object Th4-4 in 1970–2024 showed that during this period the object went through several stages, when its characteristics corresponded to different classes of objects: Be star, symbiotic star and planetary nebula ...

ECLIPSING BINARY STARS : LIGHT CURVE MODELS AND SOFTWARE

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The importance of studying Eclipsing Binary Stars for the determination of fundamental stellar data is sketched. The eclipsing binaries, originally classified phenomenologically, are now understood on the basis of much firmer physics and the improved ...

The Konkoly Blazhko Survey: Is light-curve modulation a common property of RRab stars?

open access: yes, 2009
A systematic survey to establish the true incidence rate of the Blazhko modulation among short-period, fundamental-mode, Galactic field RR Lyrae stars has been accomplished. The Konkoly Blazhko Survey (KBS) was initiated in 2004. Since then more than 750

Light-Curve Modelling Constraints on the Obliquities and Aspect Angles of the Young Fermi Pulsars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In more than four years of observation the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi satellite has identified pulsed γ-ray emission from more than 80 young or middle-aged pulsars, in most cases providing light curves with high statistics.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein
