Photosynthetic light-response curves
Planta, 1993Gradients in photosynthetic capacity through the leaf affect the shape of the irradiance-response curve. These gradients in photosynthetic capacity were manipulated by restraining leaves in different orientations. The shape or curvature of the light-response curve can be defined by Θ, where Θ=0 is a rectangular hyperbola and Θ=1 is a Blackman curve ...

Light-Response Curves in Land Plants
2018Light is the driving force for photosynthesis. Two techniques are commonly employed to help characterize the relationship between the light environment and photosynthesis in plants.Chlorophyll a fluorescence analysis is used to examine both the capacity for and the efficiency of the conversion of absorbed light into energy for photosynthesis ...

In this chapter we use the multi-frequency single dish observations of CTA 102 to study the flaring behavior of the source. For our analysis we focused on the radio flare around April 2006 and used observations spanning from 4.8 to 340 GHz (see Fig. 3.1).

The supernova phenomenon was discovered because stellar explosions are prodigious sources of optical light. Although we know today that the energy budget for the core collapse of a massive star allocates 99% of the energy released to neutrinos and 1% to kinetic energy, the 10−4 part that becomes light makes super-novae the most luminous stars in the ...

Titan's Rotational Light-Curve
Icarus, 1995Abstract Recent observations demonstrate that near-infrared spectroscopy can probe Titan's surface through its haze. In a 5-week period during September and October 1993 we observed Titan's methane windows at 1.1, 1.3, 1.6, and 2 μm. At 1.1 and 1.3 μm observations were consistent with observations in 1992 at the same phases reported by Lemmon et al.

Light curve variations in V471 Tauri
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1986The light curves of V471 Tau obtained in four successive years from 1981 to 1984 are presented. The light variations due to the tidally distorted red dwarf have been computed and subtracted out from the light curves obtained so far. A pure shape of the wave-like distortion has therefore been derived.
