Light Distribution Photometry in Japan
Applied Optics, 1971Of the representative distribution photometers constructed in Japan, a large-size photometer without mirrors, a compensation method for the variation in light output of a lamp, and an automatic recording of a sinusoidal isocandela diagram are illustrated.

Automotive Distributed Lighting: Regionally
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2000<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Very small PC lamps are used with localized waveguides to construct regional distributed lighting systems (DLS). This approach reduces the size, cost, and redesign of implementing DLS illumination. Wattage usage is decreased, and installation complexity is reduced.

This chapter describes (1) how light distributes within a leaf canopy and (2) light interception by leaves. Basic equations are shown so that readers can make light distribution models by themselves.

Light scattering measurements of particle distributions
Applied Optics, 1976Specially designed Fraunhofer plane masks are described for passing diffracted flux in proportion to the second, third, and fourth power of the radius of spherical particles. For a distribution of particles, the total volume of the particles can be monitored using the third power mask to produce a signal proportional to the sum of the cubes of the ...

AFS Light Distribution Control
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2004<div class="htmlview paragraph">The light distribution concepts of bending light as Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) were investigated when running on a curved road. In order to improve visibility on a curved road, we studied not only how to swivel the distribution pattern but also what would prevent us from safe driving when the lights were ...

Retinal Distribution of Entoptic Stray Light*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1958The primary purpose of this research is to determine, as accurately as possible, the illuminance distribution across the retina of the eye resulting from a small image formed at the back of the eye by nearly collimated light incident upon the cornea, with the illuminance distribution specified over a wide range, including angles close to the image ...

Optimum symmetrical light distributions
Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1937Certain symmetrical light distributions described briefly by the author in a previous paper are here considered at greater length. They possess, among other properties, that of producing uniform illumination on the horizontal plane in large lighting systems.

Secondary light distribution design for LED street light
Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronics and Optoelectronics, 2011The secondary optics design is a critical issue for the light distribution and output efficiency of the LED street light. Traditional light distribution methods are simple but difficult to get high energy efficiency and illumination uniformity together.

Light Distribution in the Optical Image*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1947A method is proposed for obtaining information about the light distribution in an optical image. The characteristic function of the optical system is approximated by a polynomial, containing terms up to the fifth or seventh order. The coefficients of this function having been found, a large number (about 100) of rays from an object point are chosen, so
