Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.

Technique and setup for diagnostics of p-n junction–package thermal resistance in high-power gallium nitride LEDs

open access: yes, 2012
We present a setup and procedure of studying p-n junction–package thermal resistance in high-power light-emitting diodes (LEDs) from their thermal relaxation. A set of LEDs mounted on a metal-core printed circuit board (MCPCB) were studied.

Enhanced light extraction by photonic quasi-crystals in GaN blue LEDs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The far-field profile of photonic quasi-crystal patterned and unpatterned LEDs, fabricated from commercial epitaxial substrates by electron beam lithography, has been measured prior to lapping and dicing. Emission enhancements reach a maximum of 62%, and

Fabrication and Simulation of Ultraviolet AlGaInN Light-emitting Diodes

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]The ultraviolet AlGaInN light-emitting diode under study is grown on a c-face sapphire substrate by low-pressure horizontal-flow metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). With increasing input current from 10 to 100 mA, the main peak of

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.
