A pixelation‐free, monolithic iontronic pressure sensor enables simultaneous pressure and position sensing over large areas. AC‐driven ion release generates spatially varying impedance pathways depending on the pressure. Machine learning algorithms effectively decouple overlapping pressure–position signals from the multichannel outputs, achieving high ...

By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.

Using the MAESTRA model to simulate light interactions and photosynthesis in a heterogeneous agroforestry system under alternative density [PDF]
Coffee-based agroforestry systems display two heterogeneous plant layers (shade tree and coffee) both discontinuous, uneven-aged and subjected to sequential pruning. Many field experiments in coffee agroforestry research have been implemented to evaluate

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

Canopy photosynthesis has typically been estimated using mathematical models that have the following assumptions: the light interception inside the canopy exponentially declines with the canopy depth, and the photosynthetic capacity is affected by light ...

Competitive interference of plant species in monocultures and mixed stands [PDF]
A dynamic model is presented for calculating the dry matter yields of individual plant species in a mixed stand by means of parameters derived from a spacing experiment with species grown at 2 densities and harvested at regular intervals.

Radiation balance components of maize hybrids grown at various plant densities. [PDF]
Components of the energy and heat balances were examined in two maize hybrids grown at three different plant densities (40, 70 and 100 thousand plants per hectare).

Light interception and evapotranspiration in hedgerow agroforestry systems
Abstract Quantifying water lost through evaporation and transpiration in a cropping system is an important tool in adapting a system for semi-arid conditions. During two cropping seasons in eastern Kenya, light interception and soil water content were measured in several different cropping systems: monocultures of cowpea ( Vigna unguiculata (L ...

Triplet‐Triplet Annihilation Enhances Photochemical Curing Contrast for Vat‐Based 3D Printing
Triplet–triplet annihilation photopolymerization (TTAP) resins enhance curing contrast for digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing compared to conventional Type I and II photopolymerizations at matched optical densities. By exploiting a superlinear initiation response, TTAP preserves fine details, allowing reliable fabrication of complex structures ...

Light distribution on citrus canopy affects physiological parameters and fruiting pattern [PDF]
Light interception by the orange tree canopy during flower bud differentiation and subsequent flowering and fruit setting has been monitored by continuous data recording from 48 silicon cells distributed in different canopy zones.
