Self‐supportive Three‐Way Photoelectrochemical System Achieving Uranium Recycling, Organic Oxidation, and Electricity Generation in Complex Waters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐sustaining solar photoelectrochemical cell (SS‐PEC) is developed to recover uranium from aqueous UO22+ with concurrent organic oxidation and electricity production. The monolithical photoanode directly captures electrons from organic compounds, leading to the oxidation of organic compounds and the decomposition of uranium‐organic complexes ...

Optimization of Laccase-Aided Chlorine Dioxide Bleaching of Bagasse Pulp

open access: yesBioResources, 2015
The laccase-mediator system in laccase-aided chlorine dioxide bleaching of bagasse pulp was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM). The effects and interactions of the laccase enzyme dosage, the dosage of the mediator 1-hydroxybenzotriazole ...

Engineering Porous Hollow Metal‐Poly(Heptazine Imide) Spheres: An Optimized Synthetic Strategy for Controlling Surface, Morphology, and Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Kinetics of Adsorbable Organic Halides (AOX) Reduction in Laccase-Aided Chlorine Dioxide Bleaching of Bagasse Pulp

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
This paper presents a kinetic model of the laccase-aided chlorine dioxide bleaching of bagasse pulp. The kinetic model was based on the rate of reduction of adsorbed organic halogen (AOX).

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Kinetics of Adsorbable Organic Halogen Formation During the First Chlorine Dioxide Bleaching Stage of Eucalyptus Kraft Pulp

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
The emission standard for adsorbable organic halogen (AOX) has been adjusted as a mandatory assessment indicator in the papermaking industrial pollutants emission standards of China. To provide a theoretical basis to reduce AOX formation, a kinetic model
