Calibration of light sources

Proceedings IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. CVPR 2000 (Cat. No.PR00662), 2002
We present a methodology for calibrating multiple light source locations in 3D from images. The procedure involves the use of a novel calibration object that consists of either 2 or 3 spheres at known relative positions. There are two variants of the process: one which uses range and intensity imaging to find the positions of the light sources, and one

Ablative Light Sources

Applied Optics, 1968
Electrical and optical properties of ablative light sources are discussed. For the range of parameters studied, the energy balance shows that it is possible to obtain approximately one-third of the energy delivered to the lamp as radiative energy (in the 0.35-1.1-micro band); two-thirds are used in the buildup processes of the discharge.

Flexible Light Sources

2021
Various light sources have been developed for the application of optical stimulation in the optogenetics field. Light transmission inside living tissue is limited to a distance of a few millimeters; hence, it is necessary to insert the light source near the nerve tissue to be stimulated.

The Pohang light source

Synchrotron Radiation News, 1995
A 2 GeV synchrotron light source project is in progress in Pohang, Korea. The light source is designed to provide high brightness radiation with continuous wavelengths down to 1 A (10-8 em) with its peak at 4·43 A(Le. 2·8 keY). The project, consisting of a full energy injector linear accelerator and a 2 GeV storage ring, was launched in 1988 and is ...

THE SOURCES OF LIGHT AND LIGHTING AT WORK

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1984
Succeeding in lighting industrial, office and other work environments is dependent on many factors. Good result is not guaranteed if only one of these factors is taken into account. It is essential to choose appropriate light sources and use them correctly for different tasks.Although the amount of light and its composition is considered satisfactory ...

A Source for Modulated Light

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 1958
An apparatus is described for the production of light, the intensity of which can be modulated or pulsed electrically. The source of light is a television tube and the circuiting for modulation and pulsing is described in detail. Applications of the light source for visual stimulation in electrophysiology are briefly described.

Artificial Light Sources

Dermatologic Clinics, 1986
A wide variety of artificial light sources exists for use in the diagnosis and treatment of photosensitivity disorders. A discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of these light sources (including gas discharge arcs, fluorescent lamps, and other apparatus) illustrates the importance of matching the emission spectrum of the light source, the ...
