Indoor lighting standards and their role in lighting practice
Lighting Research & Technology, 2022Indoor lighting standards were first introduced as a means to ensure the efficient performance of visual tasks in workplaces. Their scope soon expanded to cover a wider range of applications as well as visual discomfort.

Organic light emitting diode devices: An energy efficient solid state lighting for applications
, 2020Electricity consumption for lighting is over 15% world's total electricity, thereby contributing to the 5% of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. By 2030, a 50% rise in lighting demand of the existing consumption is projected due to an increase in the ...

Human-centric lighting: Myth, magic or metaphor?
Lighting Research & Technology, 2020This paper discusses the rise of human-centric lighting and its current status in lighting. We summarise the human benefits associated with light and lighting and show that human-centric lighting has sound motivations, despite being tainted by misleading

The mutual absorption of two nonparallel classical photon fields through the production of electron pairs is calculated. One of the photon fields is treated accurately in the sense that wave functions are employed which are solutions of the Dirac equation containing the potential of this photon field in the Hamiltonian.

AbstractHow does loss tear a hole in the world and produce a collective remaking of a new social order in which grief-work is not contained singularly but is a process done in feminist, queer, and Black and Brown ensemble? Interested in how we deliberately incorporate loss into collective grief-work, this article pulls from feminist and queer theorists

Deep Sky Modeling for Single Image Outdoor Lighting Estimation
Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2019We propose a data-driven learned sky model, which we use for outdoor lighting estimation from a single image. As no large-scale dataset of images and their corresponding ground truth illumination is readily available, we use complementary datasets to ...

Lighting system control techniques in commercial buildings: Current trends and future directions
, 2020Artificial lighting is one of the major electricity consumption in commercial buildings and consumed about 17% of the total electrical energy. Therefore, there is a great potential to reduce energy consumption by implementing intelligent lighting control

Lighting photography must meet the needs of advertising copywriters, PR specialists, application engineers, and management. A philosophy of “show it like it is” requires representing to the viewer the lighting condition experienced by a person in a luminous environment.
