The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Reduction of Interface State Density in 4H-SiC MOS Capacitors Modified by ALD-Deposited Interlayers

open access: yesNanomaterials
This study proposed an innovative method for growing gate oxide on silicon carbide (SiC), where silicon oxide (SiO2) was fabricated on a deposited Al2O3 layer, achieving high quality gate oxide.

Brightness and Uniformity Perception of Virtual Corridor with Artificial Lighting Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
This article compares the brightness and uniformity perception of virtual corridor displayed on computer screens and under different surrounding conditions, between two groups of respondents. The computer simulations of 10 lighting scenarios in the empty

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

An Historical Survey on Light Technologies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Following the celebration of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies in 2015, this paper presents a survey of the exploitation of light throughout our history. Human beings started using light far into the Stone Age, in order to meet immediate needs, and widened its used when ancient civilizations developed.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Prediction of Lumen Depreciation and Color Shift for Phosphor-Converted White Light-Emitting Diodes Based on A Spectral Power Distribution Analysis Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The spectral power distribution (SPD) is considered as the figureprint of a light emitting diode (LED). Based on the analysis on its SPD, a method to predict both lumen depreciation and color shift for the phosphor converted white LEDs (pc-LEDs) is ...
