Lightning detection and lightning protection of power systems in Japan
IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exhibition, 2003Lightning occurrence data have been collected with the lightning location systems operated by electric power companies in Japan. Seasonal variations and annual variations of lightning occurrence have been clarified from the seasonal and annual lightning stroke frequency maps made by the above data.

Detecting Sensor Coordination in a Calibrated Lightning Locating System
2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (ICECOS), 2019A number of applications use the information from lightning locating systems. Public individuals rarely have their own lightning detection networks; thus they rely on national Lightning Locating Systems (LLSs) or weather forecasters. Therefore, local LLS is useful for public to warn them as soon as the sensors detect the lightning strike.
