Behind Closed Doors: How Boardroom Silence and Implicit Theories Shape Corporate Governance
ABSTRACT Research Question/Issue Why do directors, despite formal authority and oversight responsibilities, remain silent in the boardroom, and how does such silence shape governance outcomes? Research Findings/Insights Silence in boards is not a passive absence but a routinized governance practice.

Leadership and Accountability in Faith‐Based Institutions: Evidence From UK Mosques
ABSTRACT This study investigates accountability in religious institutions on the basis of evidence obtained from interviews with relevant parties in UK mosques. We mobilize prior theoretical contention regarding servant leadership and constraints on personal accountability to expose perceptions of seriously deficient discharge outcomes.

Devising a 20 kV Lightning Impulse Generator [PDF]
Suurjännitetesteillä tutkitaan ja todennetaan laitteiden jännitelujuusominaisuuksia. Käytettävät koejännitteet ovat aina laitteen suurinta käyttöjännitettä suurempia ja tarvittavat testit on määritelty eri standardeissa. Sopivan jännitelujuuden valintaan

Two Faces of the Anti‐Inclusion Neoconservative Coin in Brazil: Neoliberalism and Far‐Right
ABSTRACT Brazil has recently experienced the resurgence of the far‐right, a movement that has also occurred in other countries around the world. Given this context, this article seeks to understand the factors that enabled the union among neoliberalism, neoconservatism, and the far‐right in Brazil, demonstrating that in times of economic crisis the ...

Abstract This article examines how salient sustainability risks from near‐miss natural disasters influence board composition. Using a difference‐in‐differences design, I find that firms located in counties neighboring disaster‐affected areas significantly increase the presence of directors with sustainability expertise following the disaster.

The international climate change regime and general principles of law
Abstract The Climate Change Advisory Opinion (AO) by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) demonstrates the growing prominence of general principles of law in international law. The Climate Change AO was handed down at the end of the International Law Commission's project on general principles of law with the adoption of its Draft Conclusions.

This paper describes the theoretical analysis of lightning impulse voltage waveform with an overshoot or oscillation caused by the residual inductance of the impulse generator. The oscillating lightning impulse waveform is expressed by the following formula;vout (t) = A {e-α1t - e-α2t sin(ωt+θ)/sinθ}where A, α1, α2, ω, θ are constants, respectively ...

Insights on Lightning‐Induced Remanent Magnetization From High‐Current Impulse Experiments
Abstract Lightning strikes generate intense transient magnetic fields capable of inducing strong and complex remanent magnetizations in rocks, potentially overprinting their original paleomagnetic record. To investigate the mechanisms and outcomes of lightning‐induced remanent magnetization, we conducted controlled high‐current impulse experiments on ...

Impulse ageing of polymeric materials
Impulse over-voltage is a common phenomenon in electric power systems. A switching impulse is created by a switching surge or local fault while a lightning impulse is due to direct lightning strike to high voltage plant such as an overhead line.
