Market regulation and productivity: The case of the Canadian Wheat Board
Abstract Changes to regulatory environments influence firm‐level incentives, which can move the productivity frontier or reposition firms within an existing frontier. Estimating causal effects of policy changes requires a credible counterfactual for productivity in the absence of policy change.

Abstract The rise of social media in the digital era poses unprecedented challenges to authoritarian regimes that aim to influence public attitudes and behaviors. To address these challenges, we argue that authoritarian regimes have adopted a decentralized approach to produce and disseminate propaganda on social media.

In-flight measurements of lightning locations using an aircraft-mounted lightning mapper
Real-time measurements of lightning locations can improve flight safety by providing aircraft operators with valuable information about nearby weather conditions. Lightning warnings can be especially valuable when piloting aircraft that are more susceptible to a direct strike such as electric aircraft, hydrogen-powered aircraft, and even UAVs with ...

No added cost: Emotion recognition in co‐occurring ADHD and ASD
Abstract Objectives Facial emotion recognition (FER) is fundamental for social interaction, yet this ability is often impaired in attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). While research has documented these difficulties, two key questions remain: Are these deficits specific to recognising emotions or do they ...

A geometrical result regarding time-of-arrival lightning location [PDF]
One reason for investigating Lightning Detection And Ranging (LDAR) is to validate data from the Optical Transient Detector (OTD). A Time-Of-Arrival (TOA) procedure may be used with radio wave portions of lighting signatures.

Combined Aircraft and Satellite-Derived Storm Electric Current and Lightning Rates Measurements and Implications for the Global Electric Circuit [PDF]
Using rotating vane electric field mills and Gerdien capacitors, we measured the electric field profile and conductivity during 850 overflights of electrified shower clouds and thunderstorms spanning regions including the Southeastern United States, the ...

Task‐specific associations between holistic processing and individual differences in face memory
Abstract Whether individual differences in face identification can be predicted by holistic processing, and whether both share a common underlying mechanism, remain open questions. Past studies exploring this association have produced mixed findings, but they have typically examined only a subset of holistic processing measures, focused largely on ...

Background and purpose Nano‐formulated chemotherapeutics prolong systemic availability of drugs and can reduce systemic toxicity, but their accumulation in solid tumours is often limited and unpredictable. Broadly applicable strategies to selectively enhance tumour delivery are lacking.

Style Brush: Guided Style Transfer for 3D Objects
We introduce Style Brush, a guided 3D style‐transfer method for textured meshes that provides precise creative control. It supports the use of multiple style images, smooth transitions and intuitive guidance, producing visually appealing textures that follow user intent as we demonstrate in our user study and results. Abstract We introduce Style Brush,
