Deep Residual Combiner: A Learned Fusion of Spatial, Temporal, and Multiscale Correlated Pixel Estimates

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Correlation‐based rendering techniques continue to advance, and efficiently exploiting correlations between pixel estimates has become increasingly important. The deep combiner framework [BHHM20] allows us to fuse independent and correlated pixel estimates but focuses solely on spatial correlations.

MultiCOIN: Multi‐Modal COntrollable INbetweening

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Video inbetweening creates smooth transitions between two frames making it an indispensable tool for video editing and longform video synthesis. Existing methods struggle with large or complex motion and offer limited control over intermediate frames, often misaligning with user intent.

LeafFit: Plant Assets Creation from 3D Gaussian Splatting

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We propose LeafFit, a pipeline that converts 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) of individual plants into editable, instanced mesh assets. While 3DGS faithfully captures complex foliage, its high memory footprint and lack of mesh topology make it incompatible with traditional game production workflows. We address this by leveraging the repetition of

Designing Annotations in Visualization: Considerations from Visualization Practitioners and Educators

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Annotation is a central mechanism in visualization design that enables people to communicate key insights. Prior research has provided essential accounts of the visual forms annotations take, but less attention has been paid to the decisions behind them.

Reflections on Traceability for Visualization Research

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Decades of advocacy for reproducibility and replication have advanced open, transparent practices in the sciences. However, traditional notions of reproducibility fit poorly with design‐oriented visualization research, where insights emerge through subjective, situated, and iterative work.
