Lightweight Design of a Brake Caliper

Volume 1: 15th International Conference on Advanced Vehicle Technologies; 10th International Conference on Design Education; 7th International Conference on Micro- and Nanosystems, 2013
As lightweight design assumes greater importance in road vehicles development, the present paper is mainly devoted to the structural optimization of a brake caliper. In the first part of the study a simplified finite element model based on beam elements of a brake caliper has been developed and validated.

Lightweight chassis design

ATZ worldwide, 2010
Weight reductions through alternative designs of passenger car chassis are given a particular timeliness: Initiatives of the automobile manufacturers on emission reductions and vehicle concepts - such as the electric car - require new, lighter chassis.

A Lightweight Design of Malware Behavior Representation

2013 12th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications, 2013
To encode the malware behavior reports to accessible forms for further automatic analysis methods like data mining and machine, we proposed a lightweight design of malware behavior representation named BBIS (Bytes-Based Instruction Set), which can utilize least single-byte characters to represent the items in dynamic behavior reports.

Design of a Hybrid Lightweight Energy Absorber

Key Engineering Materials, 2016
Among several problems which might affect the passenger safety during an accidental crash event, the deceleration pulse is one of the most critical. For this reason vehicles are designed to convert the Kinetic Energy occurring in an impact in plastic deformation and to spread the loads due to such events through designed structural load paths.

Design of a lightweight robotic arm and controller

Proceedings. 1987 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2005
This paper summarizes the design of an experimental lightweight robot arm and controller. It is a two-degree of freedom (dof) robot, driven by two electric motors and controlled by a control system based on three Intel 80286/80287 microprocessor/coprocessor pairs. Mechanical design considerations are discussed as well as the controller design.

A Lightweight Trust Design for IoT Routing

2016 IEEE 14th Intl Conf on Dependable, Autonomic and Secure Computing, 14th Intl Conf on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing, 2nd Intl Conf on Big Data Intelligence and Computing and Cyber Science and Technology Congress(DASC/PiCom/DataCom/CyberSciTech), 2016
This research proposes a conceptual framework for achieving a secure Internet of Things (IoT) routing that will enforce confidentiality and integrity during the routing process in IoT networks. With billions of IoT devices likely to be interconnected globally, the big issue is how to secure the routing of data in the underlying networks from various ...

A Lightweight Method for Automated Design of Convergence

2011 IEEE International Parallel & Distributed Processing Symposium, 2011
Design and verification of Self-Stabilizing (SS) network protocols are difficult tasks in part because of the requirement that a SS protocol must recover to a set of legitimate states from {\em any} state in its state space (when perturbed by transient faults).

Design Considerations for Lightweight Windshields

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The car of the future must not only meet stringent emissions standards, it must be more fuel efficient and cost less without compromising occupant safety. Much progress has been made in reducing emissions via improved engine designs, better engine control systems, and advanced catalyst technologies.

Lightweight Design for the Combinatorial Jib

2014
To realize the lightweight design of the combinatorial jib, the design theory of the combinatorial jib was analyzed, and the sectional dimensions and the limb spacing were taken as design variables. Based on the rigidity, strength, and stability of the combinatorial jib, the mathematical model of lightweight design of the combinatorial jib was ...
