Lightweight formalization and validation of ORM models

open access: yesJournal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming, 2015
Abstract ORM (Object Role Modeling) is a rich and popular conceptual modeling method. ORM has been used for data modeling, ontology engineering, modeling business rules, XML-Schemes and data warehouses, requirements engineering and web forms. Automated reasoning like satisfiability testing allows developers to detect modeling mistakes in the early ...

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

ATLLAS: M3 CAD- and mass-model

open access: yes, 2010
Within the ATLLAS (Aerodynamic and Thermal Load Interactions with Lightweight Advanced Materials for High Speed Flight) a 200-seat SST concept will be designed in WP 2.3 to meet an operational requirement of Mach 3 flight over a 5500 nm range. The Mach 3

Towards verifying correctness of wireless sensor network applications using Insense and Spin

open access: yes, 2011
The design and implementation of wireless sensor network applications often require domain experts, who may lack expertise in software engineering, to produce resource-constrained, concurrent, real-time software without the support of high-level software

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Towards automated memory model generation via event tracing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The importance of memory performance and capacity is a growing concern for high performance computing laboratories around the world. It has long been recognized that improvements in processor speed exceed the rate of improvement in dynamic random access ...

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

The Development of a Lightweight Electric Vehicle Chassis and Investigation into the Suitability of TiAl for Automotive Applications

open access: yes, 2008
A lightweight chassis for a battery electric vehicle being developed at the University of Waikato was required. The chassis was designed around a predetermined body shape and suspension setup. A chassis, built from 20mm thick aluminium honeycomb sandwich

A distributed architecture meta-model for self-managed middleware [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Openness and adaptation are the fundamental properties of reflective middleware platforms. Self-managed or autonomic systems require this behaviour, and therefore, reflective middleware platforms are ideally suited to the support of such systems. However,

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.
