The Moral Manager in the Market: How CFOs' Ethical Intelligence Drives ESG Investment in Emerging Economies' Dual Markets

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT What propels a CFO in an emerging economy to champion ESG investments when formal regulations are weak? Moving beyond structural explanations, we provide a behavioural account arguing that a manager's internal ethical compass—moral intelligence (MI)—is a key driver.

Machine Learning Paradigm for Advanced Battery Electrolyte Development

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Electrolyte materials determine ion transport kinetics within the bulk and interphases, ultimately influencing the performance of battery systems. As data‐driven paradigms increasingly reshape materials discovery, this review provides an application‐oriented exploration of the intersection between machine learning and electrolyte science. By evaluating

Boosting Bifacial Output Power of Ag‐CIGS Solar Cells by Optimizing ITO Back‐Contact Thickness for Tandem Applications

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Optimized ITO back contact with pre‐Ga supply growth and Ag incorporation suppresses GaOx formation and interface recombination in bifacial CIGS solar cells. The devices achieve 17.25% front and 5.77% rear efficiency, delivering record bifacial power density up to 32.26 mW cm−2 in 4T perovskite/CIGS tandem architectures under enhanced albedo ...

Molekulare Solarthermiespeicher—zwei Fallstudien zur Optimierung Molecular solar thermal storage—two case studies on optimization

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.

Q-LIME $π$: A Quantum-Inspired Extension to LIME

open access: yesCoRR
Machine learning models offer powerful predictive capabilities but often lack transparency. Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) addresses this by perturbing features and measuring their impact on a model's output. In text-based tasks, LIME typically removes present words (bits set to 1) to identify high-impact tokens.

First Operation Results of a Methanol Demonstration Plant With Real Steel Mill Gases

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A demonstration plant with industrial setup regarding length, diameter, boiling water cooling system and gas recycle was initially operated with cleaned blast furnace gas and compared with earlier experiments with bottle gases. Dynamic disturbances from the steel mill and gas cleaning unit were noticed and could be compensated by the control system ...

Effective bout widths for uniform spread of lime from ground spreaders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
There is a strong correlation between crop yields and evenness of application of lime. Lime is the most widely used fertiliser/soil conditioner product in New Zealand, but it is not very mobile in the soil, so it is important to achieve uniform ...

Prospective LCA of E‐Methanol Along the Transformation of Steel Industry

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
The environmental effects of change in steel production route on e‐methanol production are analyzed as they shift from blast furnace route to direct reduction route. Specific hydrogen demand reduces, as do the avoided CO2 emissions. E‐methanol's overall carbon footprint stays in a narrow range of −1 to −1.1 kg‐CO2‐eq./kg‐methanol.
