The melting behavior of hot briquetted iron (HBI) is observed and compared with FactSage computing simulation. When using HBI in an electric arc furnace process, a proper design of intrinsic carbon content in HBI, charging ratio of HBI, and addition of lime are proposed to be essential to control the slag volume, maintain slag basicity, and mitigate ...

Analisis Campuran Kapur-fly Ash Dan Kapur-abu Sekam Padi Terhadap Lempung Ekspansif [PDF]
Frequently, expansive clay soil raise problem to the buildings lies on it. Concerning to this, there are many ways had be tried to resolve this expansive soil, where one of it is by stabilization using coal by product (fly ash) , rice husk and lime to ...

This study develops a thermodynamic–kinetic model for basic oxygen furnace tapping and validates its accuracy under near‐equilibrium and far‐from‐equilibrium initial conditions. Comparison with a reference model demonstrates its broader applicability. The model further reveals the evolution of key steel and slag components, providing new transparency ...

Systemic control of immune cell development by integrated carbon dioxide and hypoxia chemosensation in Drosophila. [PDF]
Drosophila hemocytes are akin to mammalian myeloid blood cells that function in stress and innate immune-related responses. A multi-potent progenitor population responds to local signals and to systemic stress by expanding the number of functional blood ...

Double Slag Operating Standard for Mitigation of CO2 Emissions in Basic Oxygen Steelmaking
Basic oxygen furnace (BOF) steelmaking uses a double slag process (DSP) to produce low‐phosphorus steel. To reduce carbon emissions in a BOF, the hot metal ratio (HMR) must be lowered. The present article describes the optimal conditions for DSP operations under low‐HMR conditions: temperature of 1360 ± 5 °C, total Fe content of 10 ± 2 wt%, basicity (=

Hydrogen‐based direct reduced iron (H‐DRI) melts differently from scrap and carbon‐bearing DRI. This work combines differential scanning calorimetry experiments, FactSage thermodynamics, and simple composition‐based regression to predict solidus, liquidus, heat capacity, and enthalpy for H‐DRI.

ABSTRACT We investigate the impact of air quality regulations targeting fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on farmland values in corn and soybean producing counties in the United States over the period 1997–2022. Using self‐reported farmland value data from the Agricultural Census and county‐level pollution classifications provided by the Environmental ...
