Nations and Nationalism, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Belonging is an affective, social and biopolitical phenomenon which is relationally negotiated and which produces material and symbolic ‘borders’. Subsequently, the politics of belonging refers to the construction, maintenance and policing of the borders of belonging.
