Limit Theory for Explosively Cointegrated Systems [PDF]

open access: yes
A limit theory is developed for multivariate regression in an explosive cointegrated system. The asymptotic behavior of the least squares estimator of the cointegrating coefficients is found to depend upon the precise relationship between the explosive ...

Line-tension model for plasticity as the Gamma-limit of a nonlinear dislocation energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we rigorously derive a line-tension model for plasticity as the Gamma-limit of a nonlinear mesoscopic dislocation energy, without resorting to the introduction of an ad hoc cut-off radius.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A metric approach to limit operators

open access: yes, 2017
We extend the limit operator machinery of Rabinovich, Roch, and Silbermann from Z^N to (bounded geometry, strongly) discrete metric spaces. We do not assume the presence of any group structure or action on our metric spaces.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Order Submission: The Choice between Limit and Market Orders [PDF]

open access: yes
Most financial markets allow investors to submit both limit and market orders, but it is not always clear what affects the choice of order type. The authors empirically investigate how the time between order submissions, changes in the state of the order

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Arbitrage-free Limit Order Books and the Pricing of Order Flow Risk [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper builds on the landmark contribution of Glosten (1994) by treating the determination of limit order supply schedules as an exercise in asset pricing theory with the possible sizes of incoming market orders as the value-relevant states of nature,

Calculation of a lower bound ratchet limit part 1 – Theory, numerical implementation and verification

open access: yes, 2013
It is important to be able to calculate the ratchet limit of a component when performing integrity assessments of plant components. This paper details the addition of a lower bound ratchet limit calculation to the Linear Matching Method. The extension of
