Bifurcation-induced limits of a controller-reconfigured F-16 subject to actuator failures
Proceedings of 2005 IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2005. CCA 2005., 2005Complex systems like the F-16 when subject to actuator failures operate in nonlinear regimes and probably in the vicinity of bifurcation points. Therefore, in designing reconfigured controllers a designer must be aware of all bifurcation points, and their characteristics, within the impaired flight envelope.

An Investigation of Limit Induced Bifurcation in Dynamic Model of Wind Power System
2011 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2011In this paper the dynamic model for Limit Induced Bifurcation in wind power systems is constructed and used to locate these bifurcation points of wind farms in WSCC-9Bus system. For the sake of system stability, the Limit Induced Bifurcation is investigated under different wind speed conditions.

Limit Induced Bifurcation Due to Series Connected FACTS Devices During Voltage Collapse Phenomena
2006 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems, 2006This paper focuses on detailed steady state models with emphasize on control modes of two Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices' namely, Static series synchronous compensator (SSSC) and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC), to study their effects on voltage collapse phenomena in power systems.

Abstract This article proposes an improved continuation method to calculate the limit-induced bifurcation associated with the power flow equation due to the encounter with reactive power limits by generators. One of the distinguishing features is that the maximum loadability characteristics of limit-induced bifurcation are used for identification so ...

This paper presents a comprehensive and detailed study of an optimization-based approach to identify and analyze saddle-node bifurcations (SNBs) and limit-induced bifurcations (LIBs) of a power system model, which are known to be directly associated with voltage stability problems in these systems.

Simulation study of nonlinear behavior of spatio-temporal oscillations of n-type GaAs at room temperatures is studied when the applied dc bias is in the negative differential conductivity regime. Modern MBE technique makes it possible that the electron density in the metal-semiconductor contact at the cathode, n(x = 0), may be controlled experimentally.

An improved continuation power flow (CPF) algorithm is presented in order to enhance computational efficiency and accuracy of identification of saddle-node bifurcation (SNB) and limit-induced bifurcation (LIB) points. The λ-v curve can be divided into three stages according to different characteristics of the CPF in different stages, and apply suitable

This brief analyzes the linear profiles presented by certain classes of bifurcation indices with respect to the variation of the loading parameter in power systems. The bifurcation indices discussed here are used in practice to predict proximity to saddle-node and some types of limit-induced bifurcations, given their special profiles.

This paper introduces an exact and efficient method for computing and visualizing the power flow feasibility boundary of large networks composed of (1) saddle-node bifurcation manifolds where the Jacobian is singular and (2) limit-induced bifurcation manifolds where the network loses structural stability as the limit is encountered.
