Assessing the Sustainability of Community‐Managed Irrigation Systems Using Multicriteria Analysis and Sustainability Indicators in Northern Ethiopia: A Holistic Approach

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 330-343, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Reservoir‐based irrigation schemes (RBISs) have been developed to minimize the adverse effects of moisture stress and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in semi‐arid regions. However, many RBISs perform below expectations. A multistage expert elicitation approach and an indicator‐based Sustainability Assessment of Food and ...

Management Strategies and Agricultural Calendars for Forage Production in Semi‐Arid Brazil Using AquaCrop

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 411-424, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Forage production in semi‐arid regions of Brazil is limited by water deficit. This study aimed to identify the most adapted and efficient production systems and define their agricultural calendars for the semi‐arid region of Brazil. Behavioural tactics across thermal gradients align with partial morphological divergence in brook charr

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 2, Page 359-376, February 2026.
Our study reveals that brook charr adopt distinct ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ behavioural tactics to balance foraging and thermal stress in stratified lakes. By linking fine‐scale thermal movements to morphology, we show how temperature‐driven habitat use promotes individual specialization and potential ecotypic divergence under climate change.

Development of a lip colour chart across four ethnicities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 1, Page 161-171, February 2026.
The present study revealed a large lip colour diversity across four ethnic groups. The inter‐group overlaps demonstrate that lip colour is not solely defined by individual ethnic belonging. The 53 lip tones described here could be used as target shades to create more inclusive nude lipsticks in the near future. Abstract In the human face, the lips play

Bacterial porphyrins in healthy skin: Microbiota components impact melanogenesis and age‐related processes leading to Porphyr'ageing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 1, Page 186-199, February 2026.
Porphyrins, previously linked only to acne inflammation, are now implicated in skin ageing. Their presence correlates with increased melanin, inflammation, and oxidative stress, contributing to premature ageing signs. This study introduces the concept of “Porphyr'ageing,” highlighting the detrimental effects of bacterial metabolites on skin health and ...
