Cyclotron line formation in a relativistic outflow [PDF]
There is mounting evidence that, if gamma-ray bursters are Galactic in origin, they are located in a Galactic corona at distances greater than 100 kpc. This has created a need to explore new models of cyclotron line formation. In most previous calculations the line-forming region was modeled as a static slab of plasma, optically thin to continuum ...

A Note on the Formation of Stellar Absorption Lines [PDF]
Microphotometer measures of the total absorptions of lines of O II within the wing of Hγ, and of CaH within the wing of HЄ, show departures from the normal absorptions predicted from the multiplet intensities of these lines. The departures increase with the wing absorption, but the effect is more pronounced for O II than for CaH.

Finite-time singularity formation at a magnetic neutral line in Hall magnetohydrodynamics
The formation of a current sheet in a weakly collisional plasma can be modelled as a finite-time singularity solution of magnetohydrodynamic equations.

Formation and Stability of Lines Produced by Inkjet Printing [PDF]
To produce stable lines with parallel sides through inkjet printing, individual drops are deposited on a surface so that they coalesce; this initial liquid line (or bead) must remain stable until it forms a solid. The stable line width is shown to be bounded by two limits, with the lower bound (minimum line width) determined by the maximum drop spacing

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Formation of Mn I lines in the solar atmosphere [PDF]
We present a detailed NLTE analysis of 39 MnI lines in the solar spectrum. The influence of NLTE effects on the line formation and element abundance is investigated. Our goal is the derivation of solar log gfe values for manganese lines, which will later be used in differential abundance analysis of metal-poor stars. The method of spectrum synthesis is

Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

The article is devoted to the features and origins of Nikolay Milyutin’s urban planning theory. Written long before the completion of his formal education, his book “Socialist city” became extremely popular among the planners and architects of the 20th century, but the real extent of his contribution to the practice of building new cities, as well as ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
