The Formation of Spectral Lines
Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 1971This review is addressed to the nonspecialist reader and is intended to provide an intro duction to the physi cs a nd ph enomenology of the radiation field in spectral lines. Results that give the maxi mum insight are stressed and selected , while technical details are suppr essed. Because of restrictions on space and because of the appearance or pr om

On Line Monitoring of Acrylamide Formation
2006A system to monitor the formation of acrylamide in model systems and from real food products under controlled conditions of temperature, time and moisture content has been developed. By humidifying the gas that flows through the sample, some control over moisture content can be affected. Results are presented to show the validity and reproducibility of

When we consider the radiation fields of stellar envelopes exposed to the photospheric UV radiation, the basic feature is their anisotropic nature. The degree of anisotropy is expressed by the geometrical dilution factor, W, defined as the ratio of the solid angle, ω, of the photosphere seen from a point of interest, P, relative to the total solid ...

Driven by the demand for higher density in electronic packaging, each signal plane of printed wiring board must accommodate more conductors. As a result, conductor width is becoming narrower each year. This chapter reviews some of the important steps of forming finer line conductors in printed wiring boards, such as surface preparation, plating/etching,

This chapter gives a review of spectral line formation processes, starting with the main equations valid in thermodynamic equilibrium. The Einstein coefficients and the main spectral line profile functions are discussed.

Transient formation of forbidden lines
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 1996An explanation of anomalously long time scales in the transient formation of forbidden lines is proposed. The concept is based on a collisionally induced density dependence of the relaxation times of metastable level populations in transient plasma. Generalization leads to an incorporation of diffusion phenomena. We demonstrate this new concept for the

Line formation in magnetic fields
Solar Physics, 1970Hyder (1968) has suggested that longitudinal magnetograph measurements of weak magnetic fields in prominences have underestimated field strengths as the result of zero-field levelcrossing interference (the Hanle effect). Hyder (1968) also suggested that resonance polarization effects have sometimes led to errors in measurements of the transverse ...

RF pulse formation in nonlinear transmission lines
2007 16th IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference, 2007Summary form only given. This paper describes a novel pulse forming technique that has been developed to produce powerful RF signals in short duration pulses. The technique is based on modulation of a flat top 'video' pulse by a transmission line with nonlinear and dispersive characteristics.

Colonic myofibroblast cell line stimulates colonoid formation
American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 2014A stable and efficient system for the culture of murine colon epithelial cells or crypts is required to facilitate studies of the dynamics and factors affecting colon stem cell niche and crypt formation. Survival of colonic epithelial cells or crypts in vitro was not established until recently, when it was found that exogenous Wnt3A and R-spondin could

Synapse Formation Between Two Clonal Cell Lines
Science, 1977Clonal neuroblastoma × glioma hybrid cells frequently formed synapses with clonal mouse striated muscle cells. Clonal myotubes were similar to cultured mouse embryo myotubes with respect to acetylcholine sensitivity and other membrane properties examined.
