Precoding for MIMO Systems in Line-Of-Sight (LOS) Environment
IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007In line-of-sight (LOS) environments, the signal detection of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems becomes difficult because the correlation among channels becomes higher when the phase differences of direct paths are close to each other. In this paper, we propose a MIMO system with precoding to maximize the minimum distance (denoted hereafter ...

A statistical model for line-of-sight (LOS) factory radio channels
IEEE 39th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003A statistical model, based on experimental data, is presented to characterize the multipath propagation medium in typical manufacturing environments. This model includes the statistics of multipath propagation characteristics for cases of light and heavy clutter in a factory where there is a direct path from transmitter to receiver.

Pulse detection algorithm for line-of-sight (LOS) UWB ranging applications
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2005This paper presents an algorithm for precise determination of the distance between a pair of transmitting and receiving antennas using FCC conforming ultra-wideband (UWB) pulses. Indoor line-of-sight (LOS) measurements up to 24 m were conducted at Research Technoplaza, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Line of Sight (LoS) Underwater Wireless Optical Communication Based on LED
2018 9th International Symposium on Telecommunications (IST), 2018In this paper, we propose a communication system for an underwater environment based on the LED. Different modulation techniques examined under pure and coastal water. A BER analyzed to assess the system with a different situation. The simulation results indicate that a LED can be operated with a good received information quality under pure sea water ...

Performance of LED for line-of-sight (LoS) underwater wireless optical communication system
Journal of Optical Communications, 2020Abstract Underwater wireless optical communications (UWOC) recently emerge as a solution to the problem of underwater communication for link with a high data rate, low delay, safety, and high immunity. In this study, the line of sight (LoS) method based on LED used for UWOC with different modulation schemes.

Line of Sight (LOS) Stabilization Using Disturbance Observer (DOB)
2019The Line Of Sight (LOS) electro-optical sighting system based on gyroscopic stabilized gimbal staging is difficult to control because of the non-linearities, friction, disturbances and many other unknown parameters associated with the outside environment.

An efficient ‘image-based’ indoor propagation model for line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS applications
IEE Colloquium on `Propagation in Buildings', 1995A three dimensional `image-based' ray tracing algorithm for indoor environments is presented. The model is capable of predicting wideband as well as narrowband propagation information for single floor scenarios. To show the practicality of such a model, the ray tracing engine has been used to investigate a typical indoor environment.

Test and Measurement on a 60 GHz Line of Sight (LOS) Communication Link
IETE Technical Review, 2003To design and implement a 60 GHz based Multimedia Mobile Communication (MMC) system, we wish to incorporate the latest state-of-art Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) and Spread Spectrum/Code Division Multiple Access (SS/CDMA) technologies. Accordingly, we have studied experimentally those two technologies through experimentation at C-band systems, not ...

Performance Evaluation of Line of Sight (LoS) in Mobile Ad hoc Networks
2020The era of multimedia communication is a major part and partial of each and every user life each task now depends very much on the Internet. Line-of-sight is the biggest problem many are facing, while using Internet. In particular, the problem of mobile station tracking at various base stations is considered.
