The perception of elements in a system often creates their interdependence, interconditionality, and suppression. The lines from a basic geometrical element have become the model of a reductive world based on isolation according to certain criteria such as function, structure, and social organization.

Let $L$ be a set of $n$ lines in $\reals^d$, for $d\ge 3$. A {\em joint} of $L$ is a point incident to at least $d$ lines of $L$, not all in a common hyperplane. Using a very simple algebraic proof technique, we show that the maximum possible number of joints of $L$ is $Θ(n^{d/(d-1)})$.

Forming electrochemically active biofilms from garden compost under chronoamperometry [PDF]
Dimensionally stable anodes (DSA) were polarized at different constant potential values for several days in garden compost. After an initial lag period ranging from 1 to 10.5 days, the current increased fast and then stabilized for days.
