Ricci Curvature on Birth-Death Processes
In this paper, we study curvature dimension conditions on birth-death processes which correspond to linear graphs, i.e., weighted graphs supported on the infinite line or the half line. We give a combinatorial characterization of Bakry and Émery’s CD(K,n)

Uniform Convergence of Discrete Curvatures from Nets of Curvature Lines [PDF]
We study discrete curvatures computed from nets of curvature lines on a given smooth surface, and prove their uniform convergence to smooth principal curvatures. We provide explicit error bounds, with constants depending only on properties of the smooth limit surface and the shape regularity of the discrete net.

Interpolation of Surfaces with Line of Curvature
We introduce a method to construct parametric surfaces interpolating given finite points and a curve as a line of curvature in 3-dimensional Euclidean space. We present an existence theorem of a $C^{0}$-Hermite interpolation of surfaces possessing the given data.

Spacelike developable surfaces through a common line of curvature in Minkowski 3-space
This paper studies the problem to construct a spacelike developable surface possessing a given non-null parametric curve as the line of curvature in Minkowski 3-space.

Effect of Plate Curvature on Heat Source Distribution in Induction Line Heating for Plate Forming
Line heating is an essential process in the formation of ship hull plates with a complex curvature. Electromagnetic induction heating is widely used in the line heating process.

Continuous-Curvature Path Generation Using Fermat's Spiral [PDF]
This paper proposes a novel methodology, based on Fermat's spiral (FS), for constructing curvature-continuous parametric paths in a plane. FS has a zero curvature at its origin, a property that allows it to be connected with a straight line smoothly ...

Bisector Surfaces Through A Common Line of Curvatures and Its Classifications
In this paper, we study the Bisector surface, which definesthe line of curvature on a surface play an importance role. Firstly, theBisector surface constructed by a point and a space curve given in Euclidean3-space.

The curvature of the QCD phase transition line [PDF]
We determine the curvature of the phase transition line in the mu-T plane through an analysis of various observables, including the Polyakov loop, the quark number susceptibilities and the susceptibility of the chiral condensate. The second derivative of these quantities with respect to mu was calculated.

Effect of the Double-Line Spiral Tunnel Curvature on the Tunnel Construction Stability
In the construction of mountain highway, in order to avoid complicated geology and adapt to the requirements of the terrain of the large height difference and the large slope, the double-line spiral tunnels are gradually applied.

Curvature of the Field Lines of Magnetic Braids
In this paper, we calculate the curvature numerically as a geometrical feature of the field lines of the magnetic braid that introduced by Antonia Wilmot-Smith and other new braid introduced in this work similar to that given by Wilmot-Smith but with ...
