CO Line Emission and Absorption from the HL Tau Disk: Where is all the dust?

open access: yes, 2005
We present high-resolution infrared spectra of HL Tau, a heavily embedded young star. The spectra exhibit broad emission lines of hot CO gas as well as narrow absorption lines of cold CO gas. The column density for this cooler material (7.5+/-0.2 x 10^18

Fast Back-Projection for Non-Line of Sight Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recent works have demonstrated non-line of sight (NLOS) reconstruction by using the time-resolved signal frommultiply scattered light. These works combine ultrafast imaging systems with computation, which back-projects the recorded space-time signal to ...

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...

UWB Indoor Localization Based on Artificial Rabbit Optimization Algorithm and BP Neural Network

open access: yesBiomimetics
In the field of ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor localization, traditional backpropagation neural networks (BPNNs) are limited by their susceptibility to local minima, which restricts their ability to achieve global optimization.

Optimal Constrained Wireless Emergency Network Antennae Placement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
With increasing number of mobile devices, newly introduced smart devices, and the Internet of things (IoT) sensors, the current microwave frequency spectrum is getting rapidly congested.

A Correlation Between Hard Gamma-ray Sources and Cosmic Voids Along the Line of Sight

open access: yes, 2014
We estimate the galaxy density along lines of sight to hard extragalactic gamma-ray sources by correlating source positions on the sky with a void catalog based on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS).

Diffuse Interstellar Bands Toward HD 62542 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Diffuse interstellar bands (DIBs) have been detected for the first time along the peculiar translucent line of sight toward HD 62542, which passes through a diffuse cloud core.

Non-line of Sight Transient Rendering

open access: yesJornada de Jóvenes Investigadores del I3A, 2022
Non-line of sight imaging reconstructs hidden geometry using time-resolved measurements of indirect diffuse reflections emitted by a laser. To help develop new applications, we simulate light transport in these occluded scenes and introduce a set of simple, yet effective subpath sampling techniques for efficiency, with an open-source implementation.

Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

A Single-Shot Non-Line-of-Sight Range-Finder

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The ability to locate a target around a corner is crucial in situations where it is impractical or unsafe to physically move around the obstruction. However, current techniques are limited to long acquisition times as they rely on single-photon counting ...
