LINE X TESTER ANALYSIS FOR COMBINING ABILITY IN SALINE RICE CULTIVARS

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1997
Combining ability for eight quantitative characters in saline rice cultivars was studied through Line X Tester analysis involving five saline susceptible lines and seven saline tolerant testers. The combining ability analysis revealed that variance due to lines x testers was significant for all the eight characters studied. The estimates of osca, o gca

Line x Tester Analysis of Combining Ability for Seed Yield in Greengram

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1979
A line x tester analysis of combining ability for seed yield in greengram (Phaseolus aureus Roxb.) revealed preponderance of non-additive gene action. High specific combi- ing ability effects were observed in the combinations involving the parents 12-6-7 x Jala- gaon 781 and Jawahar 45 x R. 288-8. The combinations Jawahar 45 x T. 44.

Line x tester analysis for fixed effect model in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1984
The data from an experiment in cotton consisting of three testers and 12 lines selected deliberately have been analysed. The investigation showed higher specific combining ability variance for yield of seed cotton and number of bolls, indicating the predominance of non-additive gene action.

Genotype by environment analysis of a maize line x tester experiment

2015
The aim of this study was to estimate stability for grain yield of 64 F1 hybrids, produced by crossing 16 elite maize inbred lines to four testers, under stress and non-stress conditions. The F1 hybrids were evaluated under moderate drought stress, low N stress, and non stress conditions from 2007 to 2009 in a total of 9 environments. Total genotype by

LINE X TESTER ANALYSIS FOR SEEDLING CHARACTERS IN COTTON (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1994
A line x tester analysis involving 7 lines and 4 testers of upland cotton was carried out to estimate combining ability for seed in the germination, root length, shoot length and vigour index during winter 1989. The parent TCH 65/8 (Sparsely fuzzed was found to be a good combiner for all the characters studied.

Investigation on Line x Tester analysis in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)

Journal of Oilseeds Research, 2017
Line x Tester analysis in sesame using four lines and three testers was carried out to study the heterosis and combing ability for yield and yield components viz., days to maturity, plant height, number of primary branches per plant, number of capsules on the main axis, number of capsules per plant, length of capsule, number of seeds per capsule, 1000 ...

Line x Tester Analysis of Combining Ability in Castor, Ricinus communis L.

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1977
An attempt has been made to assess the combining ability of castor inbred lines involving two pollen parents and a set of twelve exotic and Indian varieties as female parents, adopting line x tester analysis technique. The study revealed that the genetic variability is not predominantly additive for yield, number of branches, number of racemes.
