Prediction of grasscutters (Thryonomis swinderianus) body weight from linear body measurements

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Animal Production, 2021
A study was conducted to investigate the relationship between linear body measurements (LBMs) and body weights of grasscutters at 2, 4 and 6 weeks of age. Simple linear correlation procedure was used to establish the strength of linear relationships and associations between the different linear body measurements with body weight.

The accuracy of body weight estimation in Fat Tailed Sheep based on linear body measurements and tail circumference

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Peternakan, 2019
The aim of the research was to determine the accuracy of the estimation of DEG body weight based on linear measurements (chest circumference/ CC, tail circumference/ TC, body length/ BL, and body height/ BH).

Linear body measurements and productivity of subtropicalHolstein–Friesiandairy calves [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, 2020
ObjectiveThe study aimed to describe growth parameters and to quantify the association between linear body measurements as predictors of liveweight (LW) of Holstein–Friesian (HF), and HF crossbred dairy calves in Queensland. A secondary objective was to quantify the effect of disease events on LW change.Study DesignLongitudinal study.MethodsFortnightly

Predicting the liveweight of sheep by using linear body measurements

open access: yesGhana Journal of Agricultural Science, 2000
The relationship between live body weight and some linear body measurements using data on sheep are explored. Predictive models for body weight were then fitted to the data. The optimum model for predicting live body weight of sheep involves the sex of the animal and its index of volume (estimated as the product of the square of the heart girth and the

Anthropometry and Size Groups in the Clothing Industry

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal, 2020
It appears that from generation to generation the anthropometric dimensions of the human population are changing. The aim of this paper was to examine the extent of these changes and the need for generating updated measurements for the clothing industry.
