On the linear complexity of cascaded sequences [PDF]
In the papers [1][2] Kjeldsen derived very interesting properties of cascade couple sequence generators. For applications in ciphering we are interested to know the linear complexity of such sequences. In the following we first consider the examples 1 and 2.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Linear Complexity of the Balanced Polynomial Quotients Sequences
Balanced binary sequences of large linear complexity have series applications in communication systems. In the past, although the sequences derived from polynomial quotients have large linear complexity, but they are not balanced.

CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

On the k-error linear complexity of cyclotomic sequences
Exact values and bounds on the k-error linear complexity of p-periodic sequences which are constant on the cyclotomic classes are determined. This family of sequences includes sequences of discrete logarithms, Legendre sequences and Hall's sextic residue

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Visibility maps of realistic terrains have linear smoothed complexity
We study the complexity of the visibility map of terrains whose triangles are fat, not too steep and have roughly the same size. It is known that the complexity of the visibility map of such a terrain with n triangles is Θ(n2) in the worst case. We prove

Decompositions and complexity of linear automata
The Krohn-Rhodes complexity theory for pure (without linearity) automata is well-known. This theory uses an operation of wreath product as a decomposition tool. The main goal of the paper is to introduce the notion of complexity of linear automata. This notion is ultimately related with decompositions of linear automata.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...
