Nonlinear Optics of Linear Conjugated Polymers

MRS Proceedings, 1992
The third order nonlinear optical properties of conjugated polymers have been considered promising since the 1970s when Sauteret et al reported large non-resonant values in PTS.[1] Although it is well-understood that the physical origin of the nonlinearities is due to the delocalization of the π-electrons, the details, and how best to calculate them ...

Reversible formation and control of linear conjugation in polymers

Nature Chemistry
The emergence of organic semiconductors has laid the foundation for the field of plastic electronics. Controlling π-conjugation by designing proper conjugated moieties is one of the commonest strategies for achieving desired semiconducting properties in conjugated materials.

The conjugate of a product of linear relations.

2006
Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be normed linear spaces and \(T\) be a linear relation from \(X\) into \(Y\), i.e., a set-valued map \(T\: X\to 2^Y\) (\(Tx=\emptyset \) being also allowed). Its conjugate \(T'\) from \(Y'\) into \(X'\) is defined by \(x'\in T'y'\iff y'y-x'x=0\) \(\forall x\in X\) \(\forall y\in Tx\).

Linear and Nonlinear Analysis by Conjugate Analogy

Journal of the Structural Division, 1967
A generalized force-displacement analogy for discrete structural systems is presented in terms of general structural matrices. It is shown that the conjugate structure concepts arise strictly from static and kinematic considerations, and that they are direct consequences of the assumption of small rotations.
