Robust control for discrete-time networked control systems

open access: yes, 2010
This paper considers analysis and synthesis of discrete-time networked control systems (NCSs), where the plant has additive uncertainty and the controller is updated with the sensor information at stochastic time intervals.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Asymptotic and Probabilistic Perturbation Analysis of Controllable Subspaces

open access: yesComputation
In this paper, we consider the sensitivity of the controllable subspaces of single-input linear control systems to small perturbations of the system matrices.

State Feedback with Memory for Constrained Switched Positive Linear Systems

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
In this paper, the stabilization problem in switched linear systems with time-varying delay under constrained state and control is investigated. The synthesis of bounded state-feedback controllers with memory ensures that a closed-loop state is positive ...

Computational Methods for Periodic Systems - An Overview

open access: yes, 2001
We present an up-to-date survey of numerical methods for the analysis and design of linear discrete-time periodic systems. The basic tool is the periodic Schur form and its variants, for which a certain form of numerical stability can be ...

Fault-Tolerant Coherent H∞ Control for Linear Quantum Systems

open access: yes, 2022
Robustness and reliability are two key requirements for developing practical quantum control systems. The purpose of this article is to design a coherent feedback controller for a class of linear quantum systems suffering from Markovian jumping faults so

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Global controllability properties of linear control systems

open access: yesSystems & Control Letters
For linear control systems with bounded control range, the state space is compactified using the Poincaré sphere. The linearization of the induced control flow allows the construction of invariant manifolds on the sphere and of corresponding manifolds in the state space of the linear control system.

Linear control of time-domain constrained systems

open access: yes, 2009
Recent results on the control of linear systems subject to time-domain constraints could only handle the case of closed-loop poles that are situated on the real axis.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
