Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Almost Automorphic Solutions of Difference Equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2009
We study discrete almost automorphic functions (sequences) defined on the set of integers with values in a Banach space X. Given a bounded linear operator T defined on X and a discrete almost automorphic function f(n), we give criteria for the existence ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Implementation of Broadband Microwave Arbitrary-Order Time Differential Operators Using a Reconfigurable Incoherent Photonic Processor

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2010
A reconfigurable photonic signal processing system for arbitrary-order temporal differentiation of broadband microwave waveforms, with bandwidths up to a few tens of gigahertz, is proposed and experimentally demonstrated.

Decisions of Closed-Loop Supply Chain Based on Recycling Effort and Differential Game

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2020
Recycled resource and consumer satisfaction drive bicycle enterprises to take effort to recycle damaged bicycles. Considering consumers’ riding experience, this paper analyzes a closed-loop supply chain where the operator sets price and recycling effort,

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Theory of nth-order linear general quantum difference equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
In this paper, we derive the solutions of homogeneous and non-homogeneous nth-order linear general quantum difference equations based on the general quantum difference operator Dβ $D_{\beta }$ which is defined by Dβf(t)=(f(β(t))−f(t))/(β(t)−t) $D_{\beta }
